Big news, pack — Sheepdog Brewing is opening a third location, this time in Cochrane, AB.
You'll find us at 217 Bow Street, with doors opening in July.
For those who don't know our story: Sheepdog started back in 2019 as a home-brewing hobby between two families with roots in firefighting, military, and healthcare. The name comes from the "sheepdog mentality" — looking out for your community, the way a sheepdog protects the flock. Giving back to first responders has been part of who we are from day one.
Cochrane holds a special place for us — both founding families have roots and connections there, and this new taproom is being built as a true community gathering spot, just like our Canmore and Banff locations. Beyond the taproom, the Cochrane space includes a major expansion of our production capacity — which means more consistent availability of Sheepdog beer, whether you find us in a taproom, restaurant or on shelves around the province.
What can you expect at the taproom? Sixteen tap lines featuring five core beers plus rotating taps, so there's always something new to try. We've brewed hundreds of recipes over the years and we're not stopping now. We're also partnering with Pete's Za Co. to run a kitchen inside the taproom, serving up pizzas, subs, and salads. Add a dog-friendly patio and regular events like trivia, bingo, and live music — all the things our Canmore & Banff regulars love, now in a new spot.
If you've got family or friends in the Cochrane area, send them our way once we're open!
We'll share the official opening date soon — can't wait to welcome you in.
